Dollar Tree Christmas Candle

I was cleaning my office today and found a candle holder that I had bought. Seeing the candle holder reminded me of a project that I saw on Hometalk this morning of etched glass candle holders.

Well, I don’t have any etching solution, but I do have some frosted glass spray paint so I decided to make my own “etched” glass candle holder.

DSCN0816I started by masking diagonal stripes around the candleholder.

(Btw, I’m not very good with masking tape. It looks alright in the pics but I didn’t get the edges sealed well enough. The paint ran.It happens to me when I paint walls too.)

Then I sprayed it with the paint. Let that dry to the touch and then added a second coat. DSCN0817

Then after the paint dried, I added some greenery and ornaments.

DSCN0822I purchased everything at the local Dollar Tree except the spray paint and the red ornaments. I had them on hand. The silver ornaments were purchased several years ago but they were from a Dollar Tree store.
