Dreaming God-Sized Dreams {week 6}

It is our last week going through You’re Made for a God-Sized Dream by Holley Gerth, but before we get into the book I want to apologize for last week. After posting on Monday, I felt like I ran into a brick wall of fatigue physically and mentally so I took a totally unplanned and unexpected week off of the blog. I don’t apologize for taking the time when I needed it, but I do apologize for not planning and letting you all know what was going.

Now let’s get into the last chapter of the book.

Some people would say that we are at the end of our journey together, but I am not going to say that. We might be finishing the book, but we are really just at the start of our journey in following our God-sized dreams.

This is our time. It is our time to go forward and pursue those dreams that God has given us.

Commissioning You

You are chosen.

You have been chosen to live out the dream that you have been given. Don’t be afraid to pursue. God chose you for this dream, and He will equip you to do it.

You are called.

Your life matters. What you do every single day matters. Both the little things and the big things matter. You are called.

You are already on your way.

Start where you are at, and keep moving forward. Remember that in the end it is the journey that is important, not the destination.

You are needed.

You are irreplaceable. There is no one else who can do what you do so stop comparing. “You are you, and that’s truer than true.” (Sorry, I just had to throw in a little Dr. Seuss.)

You are loved.

You are not your dream. You are not loved because of your dream. It is an important part of your life and calling, but you are loved for you.

You are going to make it.

You are not responsible for the results. You are responsible for saying “yes” to God and being obedient to Him. If you say “yes” to God, then He will get you where you need to be.

Your dream is going to change the world.

It doesn’t matter how big or how small your dream is. It is going to change the world, but you won’t see the full impact until heaven so don’t give up.

Your dream will change you too.

As you pursue your dream and learn to rely on God, it is going to change you. It’s about becoming all you’re created to be and all you have to do is simply say “yes” to God.

You’ll be glad you did it.

  6. Going through this book has helped me crystallize my “dream” – drill down and get specific and it keeps coming back to the same thing. I also just got a job offer from a Christian organization – so I guess He is up to something.

    1. Laura, that’s wonderful! I’m still working out strategies for pursuing my dreams, but I’m a lot clearer than I used to be.
