Why the BarnPrincess?

So why call my blog “The BarnPrincess”?

My family gave me the nickname “The BarnPrincess” a number of years ago. The first time it came up was when I set up my first email account, and I was trying to come up with a username. Then when I was living in an apartment that was on the second floor of a barn my mother started calling me “The BarnPrincess” again. There were two other barns on the property, and I loved exploring the barns despite the fact that I am terrified of snakes.

I really just love barns! As I was growing up, I spent a lot of time in our barn taking care of my horse or gathering my fishing gear. I also spent a lot of time exploring the barns on my grandparents’ farm. There were always hay bales to climb or old vehicles to play in.

Barns are large and beautiful, and they have a wide range of uses. They provide shelter for animals when needed. Farmers store feed for their animals in there and machinery for caring for those animals or planting fields and many other things. They are frequently used as workshops and even machine shops.

Barns are obviously one of my favorite things. They are fun to explore. You really never know what you might find in one. One of my dreams is to convert an old barn into either a house or a studio or maybe even a store or maybe all three.

The nickname “The BarnPrincess” suits me, but one of the things that I love most about the nickname is that because everytime I see “The BarnPrincess” it is a reminder that I am loved by God and that no matter the circumstances of my life God thinks I’m glorious and as a child of God I am a princess! It doesn’t matter if I’m married or single, if I’m begging for money or I’m a billionaire, if I’m living in a mansion or living in my car. God loves me, and He proved it through Jesus.

My message to you by calling this blog “The BarnPrincess” is that God loves you and He proved it through Jesus. He wants the best for you. He wants the best for you. He wants you to live a happy life, but even more important He wants you to live a holy life. He wants you to be who He designed you to be. You are His child, a daughter of the King and a princess. It doesn’t matter the circumstances of your life God loves you.
